Commission Guide
There are two options for you to choose - CUSTOM & BESPOKE
OPTION 1: CUSTOM
Want a different type of wood, finish or size? No problem - designs can be customised to your specification.

STAGE 1: Pick a design and pay a 20% deposit to secure a production slot.
STAGE 2: You will receive a sample pack of different woods & finishes. Tactile samples will make choosing your wood & finish very straight-forward.​
STAGE 3: Once you've made your choices you'll receive a final quote for the customisation. When accepted a payment of 40% will be required to start production.
STAGE 4: Upon completion a final payment of 40% will be required and delivery will then be arranged (included in overall price)

OPTION 2: BESPOKE
I take on a handful of bespoke commissions each year which allows the time to produce pieces that are extraordinary and truly meaningful. A bespoke piece is an investment and collaboration, whereby we go through a process of giving voice to the story of carefully selected timber in order to express a connection between ourselves and the natural world
STAGE 1
Informal chat in person or via Zoom to explore your vision & talk budget.
Share your ideas - being able to envision the space the piece(s) will be situated in, and what makes you tick when it comes to all things bespoke will guide the design. (There is no charge for an initial consultation and no obligation to move onto stage 2 of the process. )
STAGE 2
You're excited to move forward and want to bring your ideas to life.
You'll receive a document outlining material costs, timeframes, potential site visits and the first iterations of your commission with the view to present a complete design, final quote and delivery timeline. At this stage you'll have the opportunity to revise the design - adjust dimensions & features, select appropriate hardware (if necessary) & fine tune the design to your exact requirements.
At this stage the studio will require 10% of the proposed total as a design fee.
STAGE 3
Material selection and presentation of the complete design & final quote.​​
You'll receive a bespoke sample pack to finalise your choices. The final completed design & delivery timeline will follow shortly. You'll then receive a final quote, sign off on the completed design, and if you're happy with everything get a proposed date in the diary for delivery.

At this stage 40% of the total cost is required to begin making your commission.
STAGE 4
Your commission is going into production.​
Depending on the nature & technicality of the commission we like to allow at least 12 weeks for the production from payment of the deposit.
The remaining 50% is due on completion & delivery of the commission will then be confirmed.​

Design fees are based on the size and complexity of the commission and may increase dependent on initial requirements.
For commissions under £3000 the full amount will be charged for upfront.
DELIVERY
I endeavour to deliver UK commissions myself (with assistance if needed) - making sure it's delivered with care is of utmost importance - the cost of delivery is included in the final quote.
A bespoke delivery method can easily be arranged if that would be preferable.
For international deliveries - reputable freight and logistics companies can be utilised to ensure your commission arrives safe and sound. If you happen to have your own means or preferred partner then we are more than happy to work together.​

The specific details of how to care for your commission will be presented to you in an aftercare package upon completion of sale & delivery.
For repairs or re-finishing to existing commissions a quotation can easily be arranged.
